I have seen the little signature "dolls" all over the net...
but because I don't feel artistically inclined to
draw those tiny bodies, and because I wanted an "older" look girl,
I have been looking for
an EASY way to make them...
I think I have found it and maybe you
would like to try it this way.

Down load the
Fashion Ladies  Font here

House of Lime

Down load the zipped file
You can install it in your system fonts or
to a font folder, when you want to use it
open it from the folder and minimize it
to your task bar and it will show up in
Photo Impact.

Open a new canvas
400 x 400  White
Click on  the T for text
size 128   2D   color black
Type the small letter i
(for this girl)
With the text selected
click on the
transform tool/resize
I dragged it out to
Width  150
Height   250
It can be a little
larger as we will
make it smaller
after you finish her
With the text still selected
right click and convert
to object.
Now we will go to
view/Zoom
I used 200%
you might want to make her larger.
Now we will color her in.
With your girl selected
click on  Airbrush
(second on under the Paintbrush tool)
Size 8 works good, but you
might want to make it smaller
to paint in the smaller areas
Transparency 0
Soft Edge  50
On your tool bar click on
Edit Mode
I used for her flesh color
Hex # E4A68B
Start brushing in the
color. You can go over
the body parts several times.
Follow the shapes of the
body, trying to stay in the lines.
If you do go over don't
worry we will clean that up
later
Stay in Edit Mode
brush size 8
Change airbrush color to
Hex# D26D42
or a darker flesh color
Brush the right edges of the
head, neck, legs etc..
Change to
Hex # F8E8E0
or a very light flesh color
and airbrush lightly the
left sides of the body parts.
Remember we will make her
very small so you don't
have to be concerned
with blending these colors
Still in
Edit Mode
You can start
changing to the colors you
want and airbrush in
the clothes, shoes, purse etc..
Airbrush in a base color
for her hair, Use a
light color then brush
over it with a darker shade
Again you might have to make your airbrush size smaller for
some area's.
When your happy with your colors
unclick Edit Mode.
You will have selection
lines around all of your
airbrushed places.
If you have went outside the
lines--now choose the
eraser tool
Size 8 or smaller
Trans. 0
Soft Edge 50
While the airbrush lines
are selected you can go
around her and erase the tiny bits away.
When it looks like you want it
Right click
Select all Objects
Merge as a single Object.
*hint* As long as you stay in
EDIT MODE you can switch
back and forth from paintbrush/airbrush or any of the
painting tools
Click back into Edit Mode
Paintbrush Size 3
Trans. 20      Soft Edge 50
I made lines to look like hair in lighter colors. Painted in the lips
This is where you can get creative
Remember you will be making her
much smaller so details will
not show up that much
Click off Edit Mode
Check to see if you need to
erase anything
Right click select all objects
Merge as a single object.
Select the girl
Choose Transform Tool/Resize
Pull from the left hand top
square toward the right hand bottom
square until you get her as small
as you want her.
Now you can add other objects,
stamps, text etc..
If she isn't quite transparent
because of airbrushing or
places you left white
you might need to erase
bits of the object behind her.
You can now select all objects and save as a transparent gif
or merge all objects
Crop and save as a jpeg.
I usually pull an unmerged copy to my Easy Palette

Here are a few samples of the same girl.

Samples of different girls
and the bottom right is the same
letter i but I erased some of her
dress and hair and added
pants with the paintbrush tool.
